This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data when you use CalcNova — what stays on your device, what is sent elsewhere, and why.

Calculators that run entirely in your browser
The Scientific, Graphing, Matrix, Fraction, Percentage, Standard Deviation, and Triangle Solver tools use a JavaScript math library that runs on your own device. Whatever you type into these tools — including homework problems, exam questions, or any other input — is never sent to our servers or anyone else’s.
Calculation History and Notepad
When you use the History tab or the Notepad, that data is saved using your browser’s localStorage. It stays on your device, persists between visits to this site, and is never uploaded anywhere. You can clear it at any time from within the tool, or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Currency Converter
When you request a live or historical exchange rate, we send the amount and the two currency codes you selected (for example, “USD” and “PKR”) to Frankfurter, a free public exchange-rate service backed by European Central Bank data. We do not send your name, location, or any other personal information as part of this request. Frankfurter’s own privacy practices apply to that request; we don’t control them.
“Ask the Calculator” AI Assistant
This feature works differently from the rest of the site. When you type a question or tap “Explain This Calculation,” the following is sent from your browser to our server:
- The text of your question
- The current calculator expression, result, and angle mode (if relevant)
- The last few messages of your conversation in that session, so the assistant has context
Our server forwards this to an AI model provider to generate a reply, then returns that reply to you. We do not require an account to use this feature, and we do not permanently store your conversations beyond what is needed to process each request. Requests are rate-limited per user to prevent abuse; this rate-limiting uses your IP address or session, not a persistent profile.
Do not enter personal, sensitive, or confidential information into the AI assistant.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.
Children’s privacy
This tool is generally usable by students of any age for schoolwork, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, since the calculator tools themselves require no account or personal data.

We may update this policy as the site’s features change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
